cameraclubCobh Camera Club presented their 2011 Yearbook to Cobh Library on Tuesday at the Bella Vista Hotel.  After a presentation of slides, a formal presentation of the book was made to Paula Courtney and Carmel
Donnachie who were representing the Library on the night.  This was followed by finger food and a chance for guests to look at the pictures in the Yearbook.

“We have great pleasure in donating the Year book once again to the Library and we would like to thank them for their support.” said Fionnghuala Smith of the Club.

Inside the 2011 yearbook there are 134 images covering a broad spectrum of photography styles from a selection of the Club members. The images are presented in Chronological order from January to December, recording topics, people and events related specifically to Cobh and the Great Island.

The Club celebrates its fourth birthday this March and has approximately 40 members. They have concentrated on the development of its members through training, education, outings, workshops and seminars.  In 2012 they were the official photographers for the 2012 Titanic 100 Commemmorations and have been the official Cobh Blues Festival Photographers for the last two years.

“The club are busy preparing for an exhibition they will be holding in the Sirius Arts Centre on October 24.  “We would like to thank Peggy-Sue Amison and Sarah Ironmonger for their support in making this
happen for us.” Fionnghuala continued.  “We would also like to thank Cobh Youth Services Management and Staff at “Chill on the Hill” for their continuing support to us and a special thank you to Jason Sleator, PRO, who compiled and designed this year´s book. I am sure you will agree with me that he has done a superb job.” She concluded.
