Spike Island Tours
Michael Martin’s hugely successful ‘Original’ guided walking tours of Spike Island will operate on a daily basis from Monday, 27th June, departing at 2 p.m. from Kennedy Pier. This is a new arrangement in addition to the current weekend tours on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. Cobh.Contact 021 4815211

COBH CARILLON RECITALS – AUGUST
The free Sunday summer recitals on the 49-bell Carillon of St Colman’s Cathedral continue in August.   On August 7 there will be a guest recital by the outstanding Dutch carillonneur Frank Steijns.   As well as being resident carillonneur of the cities of Maastricht, Heerlen and Weert, Frank is also a member of the popular Johann Strauss Orchestra of André Rieu with which he tours the world playing his own mobile carillon.   The “Next Generation” series of recitals featuring up-and-coming carillonneurs and students from Ireland and abroad continues on 21 August when 16-year-old prodigy Quentin Leriche from France will play and on 28 August Adrian Gebruers, Cathedral Carillonneur, will be joined by students Treasa Edmonds from Tipperary and Aisling Lineen from Mitchelstown in a special recital to mark National Heritage Week.   These recitals are presented by the Cobh Carillon Committee and grant aided by the Arts Council and the Cork County and Cobh Town Councils.

COBH CATHEDRAL TOURS – AUGUST
Guided tours of the Cathedral take place every Sunday afternoon meeting at the main door at 3.30PM.   Those wishing to book tours at other times for groups of 15 or more should contact the Parish Office (tel. 4813222) for details, giving as much notice as possible.
