This exhibition presents some of the best abstracted land and seascapes being produced in Ireland today by established and emerging artists. Focusing on ideas and memories of ‘place’ Cobh artist Mairead Geary says that painting provides for her a means of capturing and distilling an instant in time. Fermoy based artist Rebecca Bradley describes her work as a response to changing light and being engrossed in time through memory. Susan O’Regan based in Rosscarbery seeks refuge within landscapes and costal regions, inspired by the changing seasons.

Bernadette Kiely from Thomastown in Killkenny talks about being in tune with nature. These four artists show a concern and connectedness with nature at a deep level. Expressed through painting the effect of place and time through memory has a poetic fascination mixed with a powerful emotional engagement. This exhibition continues the Sirius Arts Centre’s policy of supporting local and national artists and has been made possible through the support of the Arts Council of Ireland, Cork County Council and FAS.

Gallery Hours: Wednesday – Friday 11am – 5pm / Saturday & Sunday 2pm – 5pm / Monday & Tuesday Closed
