Cobh Pirates Notes – 24th Oct

Published

on

Cobh Pirates 1st side came out second best against a very strong and well drilled Cashel team on Sunday last. The score line flattered Cashel a little as Cobh were the strongest opposition for this team to date. Cobh started strong flying out of the blocks scoring in the corner with Mark Chandler converting from the side line. How ever as the game progressed Cashel settled and attempted to put phases together at every opportunity. The intensity and pace payed off as they crossed the Cobh line no less than 5 times, though Cobh never gave up. This Cobh team will no doubt take from this game and drive on for the rest of the league.
The 2nd side came back from behind in style in Old Christians to further the points advantage aftertheir impressive display against UCC last week. Contrary to their club mates they eased into the game and waited until the latter stages before pressing their dominance on the home side.

Congratulations to Stephen Hickey, Anthony Devlin-Buckley, Brian Ronayne, Killian McKevitt, Adam Devlin, Shane Cullimore, Darragh Kelleher and Chris Lynch who all have been selected for a Munster Cadets Trial at the Paddocks on Mon Oct 26th.

Our u11s attended Thomond Park last Friday night and played Ennis RFC during the half-time break at the Munster v Treviso game. The Club brought the full age grade and provided a ticket and bus seat for every player, 44 in total.
