This weekend many Tidy Towns volunteers were helping with the Great Island Spring Clean in their own areas. However eight volunteers cleaned a large area by Lynch’s Quay and on Bishop Street.
Lynch’s Quay is an area very often visited by Tourists and looked very unkempt before the Tidy Towns crew swept in. Hundreds of cigarette butts and a quarter of a ton of pebbles later the area now looks much more presentable.
Jim O’Rourke is once again declaring war on kerbside weeds throughout the town. Following his valiant efforts over the past two years the number of weeds is now very much reduced.
