Darren at the wall before starting

This week Cobh Tidy Towns was delighted to be awarded the overall award and a Tourism award at the Pride In Our Community Awards Muintir Na Tire for the Titanic Memorial Wall. Accepting the awards at the ceremony were Artist Jack Hickey, John Madigan from Eagle Safety and Jim O’Rourke from Cobh Tidy Towns. Darren Stromsoe,our Tus worker skillfully rebuilt the damaged wall at the Welcome to Cobh sign in Rushbrooke during the week and it has made a noticeable difference to the approach to Cobh. 10 volunteers came out on Saturday morning and gathered an amazing 100 bags of leaves from the footpaths of the High Road.

Thanks to all our volunteers and also gardeners from Cobh Allotments who were delighted to take away the leaves for compost.Volunteers continue to pick litter from the approach roads and from the Burma steps.An appeal to motorists to keep rubbish in your car and bin it at home.Meet us on Saturday at 10am by the playground on the Five Foot way.
