Cobh (Great Island) Community Centre played host to a festive Arts & Crafts fair on Sunday. Despite the bad weather and icy road conditions people turned out in their droves to buy their last minute christmas gifts and support the centre.
With over 50 stalls selling a variety of gifts from Home made Christmas cakes and other confectioneries to knitwear, pottery, photography, homemade cards, candles and jewellery, the day was a complete success.
Charlie O’Connell, who organised the event for the Community Centre said “It is great to see the community making an effort to come out and support us especially with the weather being what it is.
Everyone has worked very hard to make today happen and I just want to thank everyone who took part.”
It was smile’s all round for the children aswell as the centre had a very special visitor. Santa arrived at lunch time and happily sat to have pictures taken with the children and handed out sweets with a little bit of help from his elves.
All proceeds for this event will go towards the Cobh (Great Island) Community Centre.
