We are delighted to announce that our annual Fota House Plant & Garden Fair will now take place over two days on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of July from 11.00am to 4.00pm each day. The Fair, originally fixed for April, was postponed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and precautions taken for community safety. We are thrilled to now offer a summer fair with the event one of the highlights of the gardening calendar as the largest Plant and Garden Fair outside the Dublin area. Holding the outdoor event over two days will allow visitors the safest environment possible to browse through the wide range of colourful stalls on show allowing for adequate social distancing.
Specialist nurseries from all over Ireland are joining us, giving visitors the opportunity to take home unusual and special plants. Selections include rare trees, shrubs, alpine, herbaceous and water plants at competitive prices and advice from the plant specialists comes at no extra charge! Shop inthe summer sunshine for garden furniture, pots, sculptures, ornaments and tools, everything you need for the garden this year.
“With the easing of restrictions we are delighted to be in a position to be able to host the Plant & Garden fair again there this year’ said Bryan Murphy, General Manager, Fota House Arboretum and Gardens. “I think there is a huge appetite in the gardening community, both members of the public and stallholders, to participate in this year’s deferred event. As organisers, one of our foremost considerations is to provide a safe environment, a well-managed venue and ease of circulation for visitors. It will be the first plant fair of the season and we expect a big interest from all concerned.”
Admission is only €8.00 including parking. Food stalls will be on site at the event, along with Bakestone Café serving up their usual treats in the main House. Visitors to the Plant Fair are also encouraged to take in a walk of the Gardens and Arboretum at the Fota Estate that are resplendent with blooms and life during the summer months.
Don’t miss this event, it’s a must for all those with an interest in gardening!
