MyMind celebrates World Mental Health Day with a free webinar: Demystifying Mental Health in an Unequal World.
Mental Health Service Provider MyMind will celebrate World Mental Health Day with a free webinar this Thursday, October 7th at 11:00 am. The social enterprise has prepared a unique webinar which will look at ‘Demystifying Mental Health in an Unequal World’.
The COVID-19 pandemic has heavily impacted the mental health of society and it has led to social inequalities in the provision of mental health services in Ireland. Nonetheless, the pandemic has also brought some unprecedented attention to the topic that has been badly neglected for decades.
The event will be hosted by Vincent Ryan, one of MyMind’s therapists, and it will aim to provide information about the inequalities surrounding mental health provision in Ireland. The webinar will analyse the current landscape of the supports available in the country as well as offer tips on how to reach out for help. Furthermore, the webinar is a free public event, which will include a Q&A session.
The organisation is the first and largest blended model of mental health care in Ireland. It started in 2006 when founder Krystian Fikert realised the challenges within the Irish mental health sector and the high demand there was for affordable and timely mental health support. At the moment, the organisation has over 100 therapists with different therapeutic approaches in up to 15 languages, and it continues to pursue the objective of equal access to mental health support for every person in Ireland.
