Sinn Fein’s East Cork Candidate for General Election

The Sinn Féin Party representing the Cork-East Constituency has formally and unanimously chosen Cork County Councillor Sandra McLellan as its candidate to contest the forthcoming General Election, at a convention held in Fermoy last week. Cllr McLellan a former Mayor of Youghal, along with a full hall of party activists at the Fermoy Pitch and Putt Club, have committed themselves to winning one of the four Cork-East Dail seats in forthcoming election.

Speaking to the convention, Cllr McLellan said: “There was rarely a time in Ireland’s history, where people need and are demanding real meaningful change from what presently passes for national governance. Sinn Féin alone, stands out in the minds of an ever growing number of people as the only party capable and likely to provide such change.”

“Between now and Election Day, we will be selling our message to the electorate of Cork-East. We are organised in every town and village of the constituency and will be explaining to all who aren’t already aware that Sinn Féin is the only party that rejects the consensus of cuts and hardship which is foisted upon the poor and weak in our society, that we are the only party willing to oppose and offer an alternative to the IMF/EU sell-out, and who will defend Irelands sovereignty.”

“With current poll rating support of 14%, Sinn Féin is set to make seat gains all over the state, and I’m very confident as the only female candidate, that the Cork East Constituency will be one such breakthrough area”, said Sandra McLellan.
