U12 Cup
Leeds 3 Springfield Ramblers A 4 (AET)

Springfield Ramblers eventually got the illusive win in this cup game away to Leeds. This was a great game of football played at a great tempo. Springers totally dominated the opening quarter and were 1 up through a great finish by Brian Danaj. Leeds came back into the game but a great strike by Lewis Whelan put Ramblers ahead again. Leeds pulled a goal back again against a rampant Springfield Ramblers team who kept pushing on playing some great attacking football. Whelan in particular bossed this game at his ease and gave a great display in the middle of the park. Ramblers again pushed forward and Danaj and Alex McCarthy up front were carving openings at ease in the Leeds defence.

The Cobh side went ahead again through another great strike by Whelan only to be pulled back again by Leeds on one of their rare ventures in the Springfield Ramblers box. Leeds ended up with 9 players on the field through injury and the game went to extra time. Mysteriously at the start of extra time Leeds had now 11 players again. Springfield Ramblers kept playing great attacking football and got the deserved winner through Danaj with a cool finish. ALL THE PLAYERS SHOULD GET GREAT CREDIT FOR THEIR ATTITUDE TO TRAINING AND MATCHES. All players had great games but it was Lewis Whelan who put in a great shift with a man of the match display.

Wilton United 1 Springfield Ramblers 2

Springfield Ramblers started this game at a very high tempo and were rewarded with a superb early goal by Nathan O’Connell. This gave the lads the confidence to get the ball down and play some very attractive football. Tom Gill played a superb pass splitting the defence for Eoin Kelly to run onto it and calmly slot the ball pass the keeper. Wilton to their credit came out a different team in the second half and really brought the game to Springers. Midway through the half Wilton got a goal back and a few minutes later they hit the post. This led to a very nervy last 10 minutes and the lads were lucky to come away with 3 points.

Umbro 12 Division 4
Springfield Ramblers B 4 Rockmount 6

This was another highly entertaining game from Springfield Ramblers against Rockmount. Cian Doherty got the home side first goal after 7 minutes. Having let a 2 goal lead slip just after half time; Rockmount pushed the home team all the way. The away side took the lead 3-2 before Evan O’Leary levelled it with his second of the game. Rockmount to their credit took the game by the scruff of neck and scored 2 quick goals before Evan O’Leary got his 3rd and 2nd hat-trick in 2 games making the score 5-4. The home side pushed for a leveller but Rockmount had the last say with the final kick of the game making it 6-4. Well done again to the Springfield Ramblers side who are improving with every game we play.
