Blarney United 0 Springfield Ramblers 2
Springfield Ramblers U14s went top of the league after another top drawer display this time away to promotion contenders Blarney United. The game played under lights saw the lads win 2-0 with goals coming from an o.g. and a great team goal finished by Odhran Kidney Power. Best on the night were midfield pairing Dylan Higgins and Sean O’Reilly.

Springfield Ramblers 2 Ringmahon Rangers 0
This was another fine two nil win at home to a very strong Ringmahon team. Cobh had the better of the first half. Calvin Murphy’s well taken corner kick fell to Adam O’Sullivan who was very unlucky with a powerful header that clipped the crossbar and the same player had a volley that just flew over. A tricky run by Adam Horgan resulted in a poor tackle and the ref pointed to the penalty spot where Captain Sully expertly tucked it away. The home defence was well marshalled by goalkeeper Dave Coffey, centre backs Adam O’Sullivan and Calvin Carroll, and left full Niall Abbott was putting in some great tackles to go into a one nil lead at half time.

Fair play to Ringmahon who were the better team in a twenty minute display just after half time, but some great team work by Barry Chandler, Conor Hughes and Calvin Murphy kept Ringmahon at bay. As the game went on three subs made a huge impact, Sean Hilliard tightened up the defence and midfielder Charlie Fleming pulled the strings with his range of passing and created a few chances. Adam Horgan went through one on one with the keeper who handled the ball outside his area, lucky for him the ref missed it and Ringmahon cleared the ball where they nearly scored themselves. The other sub Ciaran Ahern used his speed in a breakaway move and scored a cracker into the top corner. Credit to Ringmahon who never gave up and will take a lot of points off teams next year.

The team wishes Dave Coffey and Adam O Sullivan all the best in their upcoming Irish trials.

Umbro 14 Division 5

Cobh Ramblers 1 Blarney United A 0
Cobh made it four wins in a row after a tight encounter with Blarney United. A scrappy game saw the sides level at half time. The second half saw Cobh dominate possession and a Darren McKevitt free kick wrapped up the three points. This winning streak is made possible through our excellent back four and goalkeeper who have only conceded 4 goals all season. Man of the match was Dominic Roche.

Corinthian Boys A v Springfield Ramblers A
In very windy conditions Springfield Ramblers started this game the better side but Corinthians came into it and then totally dominated the first half. Corinthians were two up at the break and would have been more only for some good goalkeeping from Adam Stanton in the Springfield goal. Each time they broke forward they looked a real threat. The second half was a complete opposite of the first with Lewis Whelan and Emeka in the centre of the pitch taking the game to Corinthians with every attack. Whelan in particular  had a huge impact on the result of this game with some tremendous balls played in behind the Corinthian’s back four.

Springers got into the game when the ball was won in midfield by Emeka who played it to Whelan who then played a great pass to Luke Hamilton who finished calmly passed the Corinthians keeper giving him no chance. The second goal was a great piece of football. Again it was Whelan who put the ball out wide to Brian Danaj who whipped in a great cross for David Forlarin to finish off this great move with a fantastic finish. Springers continued to push forward for the winner only for Hamilton to be blown offside. All players should be proud of the way they are working hard. Best for Springers were Adam Stanton, Lewis Whelan and Emeka.
