Springfield Ramblers B 1 Corkbeg 7
Umbro 14 Division 5
Carrigtwohill United 1 Cobh Ramblers 1
This top of the table clash ended in a draw. In a first half which saw Ramblers take the game to the home side and took the lead with a bullet of a header from Johnny Gardiner. Carrigtwohill had the better of the second half and were awarded a penalty with 3 minutes to go. Best for Ramblers was Dominic Roche who was a rock at centre half and goalkeeper Michael McCall Walsh who was outstanding in goals.
Umbro 13 Division 2
Youghal United 1 Springfield Ramblers 1
Umbro 12 Division 4
Springfield Ramblers B 7 Mallow United A 1
A 5 goal haul by man of the match Evan O’Leary, a towering performance at centre half by Shane Kensal powered the home side to a convincing win over Mallow. Having come off the back of two heavy defeats over the last couple weeks the home side pulled up their socks and gave a highly entertaining, energetic performance capped by some fine individual performances from those already mentioned plus Ger Devlin and Evan Scannell. Also squeezed in between Evan O’Leary’s 5 goal haul where goals from Ger Devlin and Brad Stapleton.
The home side had to make some changes at the start with our regular goalkeeper unavailable and two other players having to withdraw due to illness. Sean Butler stood between the posts plus 2 U11 players Evan Scannell and Dean O’Leary provided us with the cover and all 3 had an excellent game.
Well done to the home side.
U12 Cup
Castleview 0 Springfield Ramblers A 5
Springfield dominated this game from start to the end playing some excellent football. Pushed on at every chance by Emeka who scored two great goals and put in a man of the match display. Lewis Whelan scored a fantastic free kick into the top corner giving the keeper no chance. The other goals were scored by goal-poacher supreme Brian Danaj one from the spot and the other from a goalmouth scramble. Others to impress were David Sloane who was solid at the back.
U16 Cup
Leeds A 0 Springfield Ramblers 7
Scorers: Two each from Jordan Tarrant Lowry and Owen Heffernan. One each from Kyle O’Loughlin, Rob Hughes and Josh Meredith.
Umbro 14 Division 1
Springfield Ramblers 2 Passage United 2
Springfield Ramblers U14s were held to a 2 all draw by Passage, despite being 2 nil up with goals from Sean O Reilly and Jack Mac and playing some good football. A couple of lapses in concentration cost us the 3 points. Best on the day were Evan 0’Mahony, Eoin De Barra, and George Keating.
