Darragh McGann joins forces with Corkscrew Music Management Company

Corkscrew Music is delighted to announce the addition of Darragh McGann – The Singing Taxi Driver to their roster.  Quickly becoming a household name not only in Ireland but also across the UK and USA, Darragh McGann is Ireland’s newest singing sensation.

Corkscrew Music is very much looking forward to working with Darragh McGann to assist him in moving his music career to the next level.

Darragh McGann unveiled his debut album A New Beginning in 2009. Featuring a collection of much-loved crossover classics as well as two original tracks penned by McGann himself, A New Beginning is one for every Christmas stocking this year.

“Possessing a rich baritone voice that can call to mind Roger Whittaker, McGann has chosen a wide range of material, from John Denver’s plaintive “For You” to Jimmy McCarthy’s wistful “The Contender”. His version of “Blowing in the Wind” owes as much to The Eagles’ “Peaceful Easy Feeling” as it does to Bob Dylan. Though covers dominate the album, McGann contributes two original songs, which he wrote. One of them—”Make a Wish”—was released as a single to benefit the charity GOAL.”

Darragh McGann will soon be returning to the studio to record a follow-up collection of timeless songs along with some of Darragh’s very own compositions.  Already accruing quite a list of bookings for next year in Ireland, the UK and USA, 2011 is sure to be a milestone year for Darragh McGann.

Top of the bill for the evening was Darragh McGann from Cork, a very talented singer who is beginning to establish himself as a household name after a number of recent television appearances. The larger than life singer enthralled a captivated audience for almost an hour and humoured his newest fan base with wonderful stories from his illustrated past. MARLON Brando and the greatest film never made in Ireland is now the focus of a remarkable tribute.

Singer Darragh McGann was an extra on Divine Rapture and now credits his singing success to a morale-boosting chat he had with Marlon Brando.”I think it was a very special time for everyone associated with the film. There was a fantastic buzz in Ballycotton and East Cork. When Marlon praised my singing after a break in filming and told me I should make a career out of it, I believed him. I have never looked back since,” he said.
