Breaking The Silence would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the locals in our Community who ran two recent fundraisers on behalf of the Group. On 23rd November a group of musicians “Songwriters Circle” ran a fundraiser in Cobh’s Sirius Arts Centre. The group’s members are Ben Hurley, Vincent O’Rourke and Mick O’Regan. This event was also to raise funds for the Arts Centre and a total of €270 was raised. On that same evening a Texas Hold `Em Poker Tournament also took place in Cobh’s Commodore Hotel and a total of €350 was raised. All of these funds will go directly towards the provision of Suicide Intervention and Prevention Training.
Breaking The Silence is a Cobh based voluntary group that works to help create a Suicide Safer Community by connecting the person at risk of Suicide with life preserving resources. We are an entirely voluntary Community Group and without the support of the Community we could not do the work that we do. For information on upcoming courses with Breaking The Silence please email training.breakingthesilence@gmail.com and to keep up to date with group activities you can find us on facebook by searching for `Breaking The Silence Cobh’.
