Today in Gaelscoil Ui Eigeartaigh, the Flag was raised in Commemoration of the 1916 rising and the signing of the Proclamation. A huge effort was made by the School Staff and Students who have been preparing for some time for this Historic Event, with Students perfoming Dance and Music pieces and reciting poetry.
In attendance were Friends and Family of the School along with Lil Histon and her Grandchildren, Clodagh and Fionn McCall, Luke Rohan, Aaron Heelan and Cian Histon. Lil’s own Mother Angela MacKernan was a member of Cumann na Mban.
Also pictured are Rang a 4 with Muinteoir Padraig dressed in Costume for the Era,
Pictured at the raising of the Flag were the Eldest Student Nathan O’Donovan and youngest Student Amy Kelly.
