Breaking The Silence is delighted to announce that the Group is the benefactor of €7,000 ESB Electric Aid funding. ESB (ESB Networks & Electric Ireland) have orchestrated Electric Aid funding to support the areas of Homelessness and Suicide Prevention. Breaking The Silence is extremely grateful for this funding and is already putting the funding to excellent use with the recent provision of Critical Incident Stress Management Training to a group of front line support workers (Counsellors, Psychologists, Defence Forces Personnel, Gardaí etc.). In addition to this, the group rolled out another Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST) Training Programme in Cobh in early January and plans are already in motion to provide additional training across Cork city and county throughout 2012.
Breaking The Silence is a local voluntary group that work to help create a Suicide Safer Community by connecting people at risk of Suicide with life preserving resources.
