Following a very successful public meeting 33 allotments have been allocated so far, with detailed maps of the site being given, we were delighted to be in a position to facilitate all allotment holders in regard to locations of their plots. Our sincere thanks to Alan for the warm welcome and providing an ideal venue in the newly renovated Paddocks bar. We are completely dependent upon the weather in regard to when we will be ploughing and harrowing , but are extremely hopeful to have it done by the weekend. The pipes for water and the water storage tank pictured below have been purchased. As each week passes by, the project becomes more and more exciting and is developing at a rapid pace.
In the meantime we would like to remind all you gardening enthusiasts that now is the time to consider potting your seeds at home in order get ready for the wonderful growing season ahead. For those new to gardening who feel an allotment 10 metres x 10metres is a little too ambitious, there are also half size plots available. If you have not already seen a map of the allotments and would like to do so, contact Aislinn Hegarty on her direct line 021- 4908174 in Cobh Family Resource Centre to arrange a time to pick up all the relevant information.
