Just under 6 weeks to go to this years regatta and plans are well underway for what will be an exciting weekend in Cobh with fun for all on the water and on land. We have an exciting new programme for the kids on Saturday with lots of events planned. Our Queen competition will stun and amaze everyone with a new format this year, all will be revealed in due course( and no lads there’s no swim suit competition)
On the water we will have yacht racing ,dingy racing, traditional boats, power boats and the ever popular trawler race. We are trying a new event this year. SPOT LIGHT ON COBH TALENT. On the Saturday night between 7 and 9 we are holding SPOT LIGHT ON COBH TALENT in which local talent will get an opportunity to showcase their talents. This will be open to all. There will be auditions for this held in early August. Entry forms will be available from any committee member or in Fitzgerald’s Electrical and the Princess rooms.
So watch this space and the web site for further updates. We have a no. of fundraising events coming up. An Abseil down the Cathedral on Saturday 4th August, a new bank holiday event. The sponsorship cards are out there please fill them up. We also have a fashion show planned ,in which you can get a sneak preview of our prospective Queens. Date to be confirmed. The Regatta is also still in need of volunteers to assist over the weekend. If you can spare a few hours do get in touch.
