It was a busy week for Tidy Towns volunteers who kept the approach roads virtually litter free throughout the week. The flower beds in the Promenade were weeded, the flower boxes watered and an awful lot of grass was cut in the Old Church Cemetery. On Tuesday a team of volunteers was busy near the Cross River Ferry and later that evening five volunteers were painting transformer boxes and signposts.
On Saturday five volunteers swept the entire length of Spy Hill and the Bishop’s Road. A team from the Probation service on Community service have also started painting the railings below the Cathedral with paint supplied by Cobh Tidy Towns and this will make an enormous difference to the appearance of the area when it is completed.
