Cobh Hockey Club Results 23rd Jan

Just one game for Cobh last weekend when Div 6 took on Catholic Institute at home. Cobh had lost the away game to Institute and were determined to reverse this result against a team who are at the top of the Division.  They took the game to Institute and after about ten mins they went into the lead when Mari Moynihan hit home from a short corner.

Institute were very dangerous on the break and Cobh’s defence had to be at their best to keep them out.  They went into the second half holding on to the slender lead and with some nice breaks from Chelsea Crone and Helena Casey they kept the pressure on the away team.  However with about 8 mins remaining Institute were awarded their first corner and despite Cobh’s best efforts they equalised. They piled on the pressure and only a great interception from player of the game Tara Mansworth kept them out to see it end 1-1.
