IT’S GOING TO BE A TITANIC YEAR FOR COBH!

Last Thursday, 26th January Marc Anderson, project director of Titanic100 Cobh 2012 outlined the series of events planned at a ceremony in Cobh. The venue was the Heritage Centre, and under the management of Debbie Walsh, Centre Manager and her staff, the night was a great success.

Over 100 guests turned up to learn about the series of events that are planned for the coming year. Among these events will be a nostalgic St Patrick’s Day Parade in 1912 style,  The Ford Short Film Festival, a Vintage Fair in the streets of Cobh, market stalls, a series of sporting challenges,  the Titanic100 Cobh People’s Regatta, Concerts on Spike and the flagship week starting April 9th with the arrival of the Cruise Liner the Balmoral. On April 11th a National Tribute will take place which will include an outdoor concert performance telling the story of Titanic through music and performances from many genres.

There is also an information point for Titanic100 located beside the Commodore Hotel on West Beach.
